5 Unacceptable Behaviors in a Romantic Relationship

Let 2023 not be about poor or unhealthy relationships…

Unhealthy relationships can be toxic and cause immense emotional damage. It’s unfair to spend your life in an unhappy, unhealthy partnership.

While it’s normal for couples to argue and experience disagreements, Here are 5 strict No’s in a relationship that should never be ignored or tolerated. If you experience any of the following behaviours, it may be time to reevaluate if you are ready for a long-term relationship.

1.    Throwing things when upset. You are not a 3-year-old who is corrected and guided to not carry out such acts.

2.    Yelling surely makes your pitch high, but it does not make you correct. You are merely contributing to noise pollution and nothing more.

3.     Physical violence is never an answer to anything. If you are someone who resorts to hitting it’s time to take professional help.

4.    Being selfish or not being able to handle responsibilities. If you find yourself in such a situation, it is best to stay single. An equal relationship is a heathy relationship. If all decisions are only or mostly about you and your family, then it is not an equal relationship.

5.    Another strict no is the use of substances or staying intoxicated. While relationships are fun and there is goofiness, however it calls for responsibility too which gets tough if intoxicated.

We all know the saying, “no man is an island”. This is especially true when it comes to romantic relationships. A successful relationship requires give-and-take from both partners, as well as a healthy dose of communication. The above are certain behaviours, however, that are toxic to any relationship. If you find yourself exhibiting any of the following behaviours, it’s time to take a step back and reassess your priorities.

There are many wonderful things about being in a relationship. If you are feeling pressured by your friends or family to find a partner, it may be best to wait until you are truly ready.
